Pasadena Realtor is “a Believer” in Home Staging

DSC_2025.JPGLocal Realtor, Michael Bell at Prudential California Realty in Pasadena, CA has shared with us the excellent results he experienced from our Staging one of his listings.

He had listed a beautiful home in a quiet area in Pasadena, a suburb of Los Angeles. The home is nestled in a beautiful park-like setting. Looks like it came from a story book. It had gone into Escrow but right before the contingencies expired, the buyers had to cancel. His clients, the sellers, had already moved into their new home and were carrying two mortgages. To make matters worse for his clients, it was right in the middle of the holiday season…

Mike decided something above and beyond needed to happen quick to get this home sold as soon as possible. He had heard about Home Staging, but had never worked with a Stager himself. He gave us a call and told us the situation. We visited the property the next morning and came up with a great look for this home. He chose to take the step and (at his own expense) asked us to Stage this home.

Within a week, these sellers had an accepted offer and 2 backup offers for $30,000 more than when the property had fallen out of Escrow just a few weeks earlier. The next time we saw Mike, he told us the great news and said “I’m a believer in Staging! This is great!”

Wow, what a great success Mike! Job well done! Congratulations to you and your clients! You are the kind of Realtor who really goes the extra mile for your clients. We love to hear about how the investment in Home Staging really results in rewards for the clients.

Family Photos - Should they be displayed when Staging your home?

We are often asked whether or not Family Photos should be removed when listing your home for sale.

Family photos should be packed before listing your home for sale. When buyers come in to view your home, they can be distracted by the family photos and feel like they are invading “your space”. It is much easier for buyers to visualize themselves living in a home when they do not associate it with the current homeowner’s faces.

Those family photos can be replaced by landscape photos, artwork, mirrors or other display items that are not so personal. Make it easy for buyers to “see” themselves living in your home.

Remember, once your home is listed for sale, it becomes a commodity, not just your private residence. Create a warm inviting atmosphere for buyers, but keep your personal items private.

Best to All!
