As I was browsing a couple of my favorite blogs, I spotted Teresa Boardman’s post today about the value of light in a home.  Teresa nailed it!  How many times have you gone into a home for sale and not been able to see?  Once is too many!

Sellers need to remember that their home is for sale and that it needs to be shown in its best light - literally!  Clean windows, open blinds and drapes, and leave the lights on for buyers.  The goal is to invite buyers in, not turn them away.

And while the days are short, leave the porch light on too.  Make your front door visible and keep the path clear.  Buyers need to see your home to know if they want to buy it.

I just love sharing Home Staging success stories, so I am happy to have a moment to share a couple.

A client of ours had a property listed in Beverly Hills for eight months with no offers.  Very discouraged and disappointed, when his listing expired, he chose to list with another agent who suggested that he try having the property Staged.  He contacted us and we had his property quickly Staged to sell.  His agent shared with me that the first buyer that came to see this property, purchased the home and she is certain the Staging made all the difference between the way the buyers responded to the home. 

Needless to say, we have a very happy client and agent.  In fact, this story leads us directly to our next success story.  This agent has been so impressed by our results that she put is in contact with her next new client she listed a property for.  We Staged her home and within a very short period, this home was also sold and closed Escrow.  Who says the real estate market slows down at the end of the year?
