Want to Sell Your Home Fast or Affordably Makeover Your Home? Home Staging Gets Results!

You all know that home staging makes a huge difference in how a home shows to buyers, but some of you may think that home staging is for someone else, that it won’t really make a difference in your home.  But the truth is, home staging makes a huge difference in every home, and not just vacant homes and not just when you are trying to sell them.

You can stage your home for sale using what you already have or by adding just a few new pieces and make dramatic changes for the positive.  And hey, when the changes are so positive, why would you wait until you are ready to sell to make them?  Make them while you are still planning on living in your home to make that time even more enjoyable.

I thought I’d post a few photos of a project we worked on recently that had some great results (can you say Sold!).  This was a home where we first performed a staging consultation.  The homeowner did her prep work and got the home ready and she packed up, sold and gifted the things they no longer needed.  They painted, cleaned and made a few needed repairs, then we came back to stage the home using a combination of their own pieces along with a few key items from our inventory.  As you can see below, the results were fantastic!

Foyer before home staging

Before staging, this room had no function other than storage, what a shame!

Now this foyer is a great sitting area for the guest suite-a perfect use of space and so much prettier to look at!

Master bedroom before home staging

This master bedroom was functional, but lacked pizazz.

Now this master suite has a romantic edge, softness and color without being over the top.

Home Staging a Kitchen before photo

Lots of kitchens tend to collect too many things, especially as the years pass.

But fresh paint and a pair of fresh eyes can give your kitchen a whole new look!

This particular home was being staged for sale, but the changes made here could have just as easily been made should the owners have been planning on remaining in the home.  Meeting with a home stager for a consultation and getting their input on how to best use your spaces can be very enlightening.  The fresh perspective a trained home stager offers will help you see possibilites you never imagined.  An experienced home stager will help you see many unique qualitites your home and even your existing furnishings offer and how with a little creativity, elbow grease and know-how, you can makeover your home quickly and affordably.

Oh and by the way, this home sold in the first week with multiple offers.  Not bad considering all the stories you hear about today’s Southern California real estate market!

When Staging a Home for Sale, Remember to Check the Roof!

Staging a home for sale is a term used for showcasing your home to buyers in its best light, starting from the ground up.  So when you are in the process of preparing your home for sale, do be sure to have your roof checked and if there are repairs that need to be made, make them before you put your home on the market.  After all, buyers are buying the complete package, not just the parts they can easily see.

I don’t know about where you live, but here in Southern California, we have had some particularly high winds this winter.  I’ve seen roof tiles scattered along my street in varying shapes and shades indicating that they are from more than one home.

Your buyer will most likely be performing a home inspection as part of their decision making process in the purchase of your home, so be sure you have your home in good repair, including the roof.

And if you are staging your home to make it fit your lifestyle now, you want to be sure you make the repairs before any leaks have a chance to form.  Taking care of your home from the ground up will pay you back by having a home that supports you with a healthy environment, free from any unwanted drips or drops to cause trouble later.

After all, we all want a solid roof over our head, right?

Looking for a Gorgeous Ranch Home here in Los Angeles?

I had the opportunity to speak with the builders of these homes yesterday, so I thought I would update this post as they are hosting public open houses daily now.  These homes are fabulous, we have staged them and they are ready to be moved into now.

These are not your typical ranch houses, but they are built with accomodating corrals in mind.  These homes in Sylmar are gorgeous, with amazing courtyard entries, dramatic architectural features throughout and each on a lot large enough to house your horse as well as your family and friends.

These homes are now open 10am to 5 pm daily.  Contact the builders for additional information, their info is on the details page.  The builders love to ride and love the area, so these homes were built with love and respect for both.
